Causes of Yeast Infections

Did you know that the bacterium related to the Causes of Yeast Infections is in everyone? Yes, every human being has Candida Albicans in their body. Actually Candida Albicans is quite harmless when it’s under control but as soon as it’s given the right “food” it will grow and literally overpopulate the other good bacteria in the body.

So what is “this food” and how do these relate to the Causes of Yeast Infections?

1. The most common cause is through a weakened immune system.

How does this happen?

From taking antibiotics.

These drugs kills the good bacteria, leaving room for the bad bacteria to grow and grow. That’s why, whenever my family gets a cold or fever, I always chooses to increase the amount of vitamins and minerals in their diet so that we won’t have to resort to antibiotics. I up the Vitamin C to as much as 10,000mg as well as Zinc, Echinacea and Bilberry extract. If my children are not hungry, I don’t force them to eat because the body is using all its energy to fight the virus and doesn’t want to waste energy on digesting food.

So the bottom line is try to avoid taking antibiotics and if you do have to take them, then get a high quality probiotic to supplement with through the duration of the course and for 2 weeks after you have finished taking them. A lot of people say eat yogurt, but once again, make sure the yogurt is full fat. The low fat and fat free versions of yogurt don’t have high amounts of probiotics.

2. Eating a Bad Diet, Being Stressed and Not Getting Enough Rest.

All of the above lead to your immunity becoming suppressed. A bad diet which would be high in sugar, bad fats, and processed foods will feed the Candida. That’s why many yeast infection sufferers are recommended to go on a Candida Albicans diet

Stress weakens the immune system because it drains the body of energy and not getting enough sleep just accelerates that stressful condition.

3. Sexual Contact
Another one of the common causes of yeast infections is it being spread through sexual contact. That is why some men get penile yeast infections. Thrush infections thrive in this warm and moist environment.

4. Oral Contamination
You can pass a yeast infection on through saliva on the utensils or kissing. A baby might pick up a yeast infection through breast feeding if they mother has it.

If a woman has a bad yeast infection while she is pregnant and has a natural birth, the infection could get passed onto the child from contact with the vagina. (Keep in mind that this won’t mean the person contaminated will get a vaginal yeast infection. Oral contamination is usually related to oral yeast infections. This website does not go into detail about oral or infant yeast infections.)

So as you can see there are a good couple of ways that you could have got this problem and now most likely have a recurring yeast infection. Whatever way you might think it could be, you have to take action yourself to get it under control

Yeast Infections do not just go away on their own.
